If you’re an artist, then this is for you.

femaleganondorfdragmire:

This year, I want you to be unapologetic when you create.

Don’t apologize for your writing, drawing, music, designs, films, sculptures, cosplays, knitting, sewing, cooking, and anything else I might’ve missed.

Don’t apologize for the quality.

Stop being afraid of what you can accomplish. You might think you can do so much better, well guess what? You will. You’re always improving. But if you start to apologize for the best you can do at this moment, then you might restrain yourself, stop yourself from taking risks that will help you.

I know this is a hard thing to stop. I do it all the time. When I submit art to people that I’m not so confident about, I’ll apologize in advance.

This year, I challenge you, and myself, to stop doing it.

it’s 2018!

– stop saying the r slur (r*tard)

– stop making fun of our special interests

– stop turning the way we talk into copypastas

– stop treating us like infants

– stop desexualizing us

– stop trying to cure us

– stop talking over us

– start listening to us

– start respecting us

– start including us in your activism

– start making things accessible for us

– start fighting ableism

– stand up for us

– stand with us

u, a dweeb: if a kid draws in anime style they are wrong and need to be told how wrong they are because it’s more important to crush any joy in drawing bc blah blah blah art school

Reblog if you support dreams!

If you’re a creator and you needed to hear this today:

mypoorfaves:

You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.

People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.

My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.
